SheezyArt? No more adult work? Hmm, not hardly surprisedposted Jan 14th 2005, 2:48AM
#1. What they are saying is a lie. The #1 dedicated hosting company in the world, EV1servers.net, allows adult work. They're just too cheap to go there. Considering that their prices are EXTREMELY reasonable, and they offer AWESOME load-balancing VNETs and servers as well as unmetred servers, this is ridiculous.
#2. Does it really surprise anyone that this was going to happen? When neom joined the crew I expressed my concern, and we were promised that nothing much would change. I remained skeptical. Apparently, I was right. Again.
#3. If any PHP programmers are interested in creating a real community artsite for yaoi/boy's love, please send an email to gallery@y-hosting.net. It is a project that I had been planning on doing for a while but have not had the time or energy to implement. I promise this one won't become "non-adult" as that would defeat the purpose of the entire domain. :)
""So long, and thanks for all the fish.''
Here's an AIM conversation to put everything in perspective. Full disclosure (context): I was trying to stop art from being deleted due to the fact that it 'looked underage'.

[08:27:05 PM] ChannelCatBP: this is a privately owned site, you're acting like i owe these people everything in the world
[08:27:26 PM] chSnover: The minute you started taking donations was the minute you started oweing people something.
[08:27:52 PM] ChannelCatBP: and they obviously gave money for what they thought was a good thing
[08:27:56 PM] ChannelCatBP: which hasnt changed
[08:28:03 PM] chSnover: I seem to recall giving you money
[08:28:10 PM] chSnover: Regardless of whether or not you received it I have the receipt
[08:28:22 PM] ChannelCatBP: yeah and after that paypal shut down our account
[08:28:31 PM] chSnover: That doesn't fucking matter
[08:29:19 PM] chSnover: When someone gives you a gift, regardless of whether or not you got it, you don't go "Oh well fuck you I didn't get your gift so clearly it never existed/doesn't matter/I don't care"
[08:29:45 PM] ChannelCatBP: I'm not going to adhere to your every wish just because you gave me a donation
...[argument regarding the legality of shota/loli artwork]...
[08:36:01 PM] ChannelCatBP: ooookay well why should i allow shota/loli?
[08:36:18 PM] chSnover: Because you've got a lot of artists that would like to showcase their works
[08:36:51 PM] ChannelCatBP: i don't see that as a valid reason
[08:37:09 PM] chSnover: Well, you are running an art site for artists
[08:37:28 PM] ChannelCatBP: there's a cretain point at which we limit things
[08:38:46 PM] chSnover: For what purpose?
[08:39:44 PM] ChannelCatBP: control
[08:40:03 PM] chSnover: Control of what?
[08:40:06 PM] chSnover: The artists?
[08:40:11 PM] chSnover: I thought SheezyArt was "not DA"
[08:40:12 PM] ChannelCatBP: the mood of the site
[08:40:19 PM] chSnover: There's a mood now?
[08:40:27 PM] ChannelCatBP: there always was
[08:41:53 PM] chSnover: It started off as "yay someplace not like DA where we can be free to display our art"
[08:42:16 PM] chSnover: Now it's "yay someplace not like DA where we can be free to display any art that the moderators don't find bad... oh wait, this is EXACTLY like DA"
[08:42:44 PM] ChannelCatBP: well view it how you want, sheezyart started off as a place to have features like DA but not charge for it
[08:43:01 PM] chSnover: well hell, ban all the smut then
[08:43:25 PM] ChannelCatBP: we're not banning anything we allow
[08:43:25 PM] chSnover: then it'll be exactly like DA
[08:43:53 PM] ChannelCatBP: how so?
[08:44:21 PM] chSnover: If you want SA to be exactly like DA only free, then follow their same rules.
[08:44:34 PM] ChannelCatBP: where did i say rules?
[08:44:37 PM] ChannelCatBP: i said features
[08:44:52 PM] chSnover: If your principal reason is to have features like DA for free
[08:44:57 PM] chSnover: Why change anything else?
[08:45:12 PM] ChannelCatBP: because we wanted people to have more freedom
[08:45:42 PM] chSnover: Ah, but only the freedom YOU wanted them to have, eh?
[08:45:57 PM] ChannelCatBP: if you want to put it that way then be my guest

P.S. I didn't give money so that this could become another DA.
P.S.2. This message is only posted by its author to journals in the author's inbox that are posts regarding the issue mentioned herein.
P.S.3. This is not a personal attack on any members of SA, though it may seem as such. It is merely an expose of the views and habits of the heads of the site.
Note to my watchers:To anyone who likes any of my works SA didn't already delete, please feel free to dowload any of the images and share them with friends. I will probably be deleting this account tonight.
This whole no Adult images shit sucks. I've been trying to make a mature/Adult art community for sometime. Getting ahold of PHP coders are hard enough because they don't like to help or they're just to lazy, but I'd like to help you make that community that isn't 'non-adult'.
I know PHP and I wouldn't mind helping with the adult community if it's not yaoi-only ^^
The thing about Sheezy is they have been trying to create a community for all purposes so they just ended up realizing that it's a good way to make money in the future, all that is needed is get rid of adult stuff to raise reputation.
But they didn't realize that most people actually needed Sheezy as adult artwork storage, so I guess there should be a community that is adult-only and doesn't store non-adult submissions. That's what people need anyway.
I hope they'd make Shizzle eventually, though, as MDY wrote in her journal, a separate adult-only server.
If not, then let's make our own art community, why not?
I was wondering if you could help me with the php on my site. UnpureArt It's a 4images gallery that I made for people to place their adult artwork, but I need to change the TOS. I've got it to work once, but when I went to make a test account and clicked submit it took me right back to the TOS agreement page. I'm not sure how to read PHP so I was hoping you could help me.
It's a content management system. The TOS comes with it. I'm not PHP code wise so I'm not sure how to change it. I want to and got it to change at one point but when you signed up and hit the sumbit button it took you back to the TOS. If you know how to fix it would you help me?
